St. Thomas

In the winter of 1992 I jointed the R/V Westward at the dock in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands for a sail south through the Windward Islands, around Grenada, and back up through the Bahamas to Fort Lauderdale. I was a college sophomore taking a semester abroad to learn oceanography and tallship sailing with the Woods Hole-based SEA program (W-130). The school was pretty funky back then. Far less slick than today. The year prior to joining the ship, I painted this.
