Judith Mountains

Following a 4 month internship in Houston with Exxon, I decided to drive to Banff and take photographs along the way. I ended up spending a few weeks on the trip, taking care of a ski cabin for the Alpine Club of Canada, bathing in the Kicking Horse River outside Field, BC, and again in the Yellowstone outside Livingston, MT, before returning to my home in Laramie. The most photogenic part of that early spring trip was the vast region along east slope of the Rocky Mountains in northern Montana: Hay and cattle and cowboy country. I passed a sign for the Two Dot Ranch. The name stuck with me. I never saw the actual ranch - its probably turned into a fancy place nowadays. But 100 years ago it maybe looked like this, when the little barn was brand new and things were just getting going.
