Surf Style Coffee Table

I found this early '60s coffee table at the Re-Store for $10. The base was the only thing I wanted - the MDF and Formica top went right in the trash.

So I laminated some 1" thick cedar strips and cut out the top using long arcs. Fixed up the base and spray painted it with a color Gidget would appreciate. Finished the top in oil based polyurethane (which always looks nice on cedar). The result is a proper surf style coffee table.
