Fitz Traverse
CHALTEN SKYLINE, 24" x 14"
In the 2015 mountaineering film, Meru, climber Renan Ozturk is shown rapidly sketching mountain vistas on big wrinkled pieces of paper he packed into basecamp. Ozturk's work inspired me, so I knocked out this drawing today (from a climber's photo). Its the Mount Fitz Roy group in Patagonia. From left to right, Aguja Rafael Juarez, Aguja Poincenot, Aguja Kakito, Cerro Fitz Roy, Pilar Goretta, Aguja Val Biois, Aguja Mermoz, Aguja Guillaumet. I used 7 colored pencils (Prismacolor), black ink (Sharpie), and 80-lb acid free paper. About 3 hours from start to finish.
A nice fellow in Austria bought this from me. Thank you, Michael!
