What's in My Field Geology Pack?

Geologists do a wide variety of work. Field Geology is done on foot with a pack on your back and a map in your hand. The tools carried by a Field Geologist reflect the nature of the project, experience, and personal preference. My field gear list is strongly influenced by years traveling through mountains and climbing peaks. Every item is lightweight and functional. In this video, I empty my pack to show you the gear I carry for work in Quaternary sediments in Columbia Basin.
